No matter what season you're in; whether it is lack or abundance, remember that God is with you. He loves you and everything you experience is meant to grow you closer to Him.

Lyra, my beloved cat of 13 years, passed away this year on Father's Day. She's been by my side through very difficult times and was my little rock of steady and unrelenting love. I struggled a lot drawing this, and struggled a lot posting it, but I know I would've wanted to read a comic like this that validated my grief for her when I lost her.

Wherever you are, Lyra my little summer star, I love you always! Thank you for being the best thing in my life.

I will never understand genuine bullies; full grown people who are past the age of sibling/peer rivalry and can make choices themselves, who do not punch up but step on the things that bring struggling people some degree of joy. No matter how bad things get that will never be me. And I fundamentally despise them too much to let them have any power over me either, no matter how cordial we might be.

Reblogging this as it was Father's day yesterday which is a tough day these days but thought of him

My wee dad on his favourite day of the year, St. Patrick's day. This is the last photo ever taken of him, it's 2020, just a couple of weeks later lockdown began and on the 5th of April, he died of COVID. St. Patrick's day will forever be bittersweet for me now, but when I think of my dad, this image is what springs to mind and I smile. I have many memories of seeing him stagger down the street towards his front door wearing a hat similar to this as he had attempted to drink the pub dry of Guinness 🤣 never forgetting his Irish roots of which he felt great pride. He would usually give up alcohol for lent but always said St. Patrick's day was exempt which I thought was Hughie making his own rules only to learn from an Irish work friend that this is infact is an Irish rule, tonight I will raise a glass and remember my dad on his favourite day of the year, "Sláinte" 🤣🤣 💚💛💚

Sometimes God will let us be uncomfortable for a dark, difficult period so He can bless us later on. He’ll close a door, which we don’t like, but later on He’ll open a bigger door. God is not as concerned about our comfort as He is about our purpose.

There are times when He will shake things up to force us to change. His goal is not to make our life miserable; He’s pushing us into our purpose. ✨️

Hitting the road was tough today. Andrzej's mild cold from yesterday worsened significantly by morning, and I was concerned about the long 900 km drive ahead of us. To add to that, we had a lengthy wait at a supercharger and two highway accidents that set us back by 4 hours. We finally made it to Budapest just before midnight, in frozen rain and terrible spirits.

- i kinda like that she ended up looking like a mother-of-pearl inlay lacquerware!

- oh this was a subconscious choice, but Gale is sitting in seiza which is a posture for showing respect especially to elders. it's also known to be a painful position to sit in for extended periods of time, which is why it was sometimes used as a method of (morally dubious) punishment. however, experienced people can maintain this posture for much longer. food for thought :-)
